What You Do, Not Who You Are

Whenever you have a day where it seems no one is getting better, where you feel like an imposter or not good enough, remember this… this is what I do, not who I am. 


There is a difference between taking your work seriously, and taking it personally. Seriously means learning from your mistakes, reflecting on your practice, and caring enough to be criticized (because learning rarely happens in our comfort zone). Personally means thinking the outcomes of the work are a reflection of you as a person. 


We are our harshest critic, so on these days take a breath and save your judgement for the work, not yourself.
